SCHOOL LIBRARY

The school has a small library.Books are issued during the school working days. The students will be allowed to keep book for a week. The books must be returned on the due dates. A late fee of one rupee will be collected for each day of delay. Repetition will be viewed seriously and thereafter books will not be issued to him / her. In case any books is lost or spoiled the cost price of the book will be collected.

SCOUTS & GUIDES :

Our school scouts and guides are affiliated to the I.C.F. District southern railway scouts and guides. More than 300 pupils have enrolled in our school troops and two guides companies. Last year they have won the largest number of badges among the southern railway units.

Every year our schouts and guides participate in national leval camps and distinguish themselves in various activities. AIDS awarencess, leprosy awareness, tree planting and mass literacy programme are some of the important projects.

Smt.V.S.Kalyani B.A., is incharge of guides.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS :

Our school has the proud privilege of having three different units of national cadet corps. They are army wing (Boys) army wing (Girls) and a naval wing (Boys) The strength of naval wing is 125 and others 100 each.

Every year they participate in national integration camps organized by the N.C.C. Directorate. Some of our cadets participated in the republic day parade in New Delhi. They are given training in various skills like shooting mountaineering and trekking. Besides they take active interest in social welfare projects. Thiru S.Gandhi Maheswaran, M.Com.,M.P.Ed.,PGDBM.,M.Phil.,is the officer in charge of army wing (boys) Mr.D.Gopalakrishnan, B.A.,M.PEd.,M.Phil.,P.G.D.S.T.T.DAUC., is the officer incharge of naval wing (Boys) Mrs.R.Padmasundari M.Sc., B.Ed., M.Phil., is the officer incharge of army wing (Girls).

NATIONAL SERVICES SCHEME :

There are fifty boys in our school N.S.S.Unit, The volunteers actually participate in various community service projects. Regulating traffic. Tree planting and mass literacy programme, AIDS awareness are some of the projects they have undertaken Thiru S.Narayanan M.Sc.,M.Ed.,M.Phil., is the officer in charge.

ROAD SAFETY PATROL :

Students are encouraged to enroll themselves in this unit. They are encouraged to do service near by school.Mr.M.Rajendran,M.A.,B.Ed., is the officer incharge.

SCIENCE CLUB :

The Science club in our school organizes exhibitions to bring out the scientific talents of our school children, the club provides scope for students practical training. Students of all classes are encouraged to become, its member.Thiru S.Narayanan M.Sc.,M.Ed.,M.Phil., is in charge at higher secondary level.Tmt. P.MythiliB.Sc.,B.Ed., at high school level, Tmt.R.Sridevi B.A., at middle school level co-ordinate the club activities.

MATHS CLUB :

Students of all classes are encouraged to become its members. Its activities bring out mathematical talents of the students. The club provides scope for practical training.Smt.R.Padma sundari M.Sc.,B.Ed.,M.Phil.,Mrs.D.Lerince,Mrs.P.Santhakumari B.Sc.,B.Ed., co-ordinate the club activities.

ECO CLUB :

Students of all classes are encouraged to become its members. Eco Club provides pollution awareness to students. The club provides scope for practical training Mr.S.Narayana, co-ordinates the club activities.

GREEN CORPS :

Students of all classes are encouraged to join in the unit. Activities like tree plantation, Garden maintenance are undertaken by Tmt.P.Jayalakshmi.

LITERARY ASSOCIATION :

The Tamil and English literacy associations provides training to develop the art of speaking and writing. Competitions are held in music,oratory,essay etc. to encourage the students. Mrs.N.Jayanthi M.A.,M.Ed., and Mr.T.Soundari M.A.,M.Ed., are incharges of the English &Tamil literary associations respectively.

JUNIOR RED CROSS :

Junior red cross troop was started in 1976. It is affiliated to the Tamil nadu Junior red cross organization students are imparted first and training with the help of this organization,Tmt.K.Ramadevi, and Tmt.E.Veni are incharges.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION :

Physical education is compulsory to all students. Marks obtained in the physical education examination will be taken into account for promotion instandards six to nine.There are four houses namely Blue,Green, Red and Yellow.
